Hiya, Karen here!    The Colour of the Month (CoM) for February 2026 is Grey/Gray which is such a versatile colour as it tones with just about any other colour.   It's a superb choice for textured knitting and crocheting, and it is superb as a Plain Jane square becoming a staple base for other colours to shine.

Grey is the colour of intellect and of compromise.   It's a diplomatic colour, negotiating all the distance between black and white.   We typically consider grey to be conservative, elegant and cool, though it can be a bit mysterious.

I'd encourage 8" squares, handwarmers, hats and completed blankets or panels.

    • A fabulous collection, Diane.   Love all the bright and cheerful colors.

    • Wow! While some of us (me) are still contemplating them for a 'near future' project, you have produced 12 BEAUTIFUL pairs of handwarmers, Diane...truly amazing!!

      All SO colourful. :))

    • Oh Diane you are so quick to respond to our recent shout out for handwarmers.   Thank you for this much needed colourful bounty to help restore our supplies xx ♥️

    • You're one step ahead of the request on Snippets, Diane. Well done!

  • I thought that a blanket using gray and a variety of purple variegated yarns would turn out brighter, more cheerful than this one did.   Also, I played yarn chicken with all the bits and bobs of leftover purple variegated and lost every time.   Maybe this is actually a wool-eater blanket.   I had it on my lap during some chilly, windy, rainy days and was glad for its warmth.31092194692?profile=RESIZE_710x

    • Looks very cheerful to me, love these shades together and the design. I'm using grey and 3 other darker colours at the moment and using brighter variegated stripes to lift it.

    • Fabulous Sharon it definitely shines.
