Hiya, Karen here! The Colour of the Month (CoM) for February 2026 is Grey/Gray which is such a versatile colour as it tones with just about any other colour. It's a superb choice for textured knitting and crocheting, and it is superb as a Plain Jane square becoming a staple base for other colours to shine.
Grey is the colour of intellect and of compromise. It's a diplomatic colour, negotiating all the distance between black and white. We typically consider grey to be conservative, elegant and cool, though it can be a bit mysterious.
I'd love to see examples of your projects posted within this discussion if you would like to share.
I'd encourage 8" squares, handwarmers, hats and completed blankets or panels.

My tension on 3.75mm or 4mm needles using DK yarn is around the same stitch count as you and Diane.

I use this pattern too.
My first triangle (using DK - Double Knit yarn) usually comes out at 55 stitches, so to make an even number of stitches I increase 1 stitch at the end of the row with 55 stitches.
I always put a stitch marker at the halfway point (28 stitches) on the second triangle so that I don't have to keep counting the stitches.

Merci beaucoup Karen : si j'obtiens la traduction automatique j'essaie ce modèle sinon je continue en diagonales et autres points mais j'aime expérimenter les nouveautés aussi. En ce moment je m'exerce au "point de gaufre" et j'ai réalisé un carré avec ce point chaud et vaporeux. Je viens d'ajouter dans les photos 4 carrés CoM gris et je fais un envoi la semaine prochaine.
Funny I knit 3 waffle stitch squares a few days ago in readiness for the upcoming CoM green. It's not a stitch I do regularly so this is a coincidence! ♥️
En effet Karen c'est étrange et les coïncidences ont toujours un sens caché ! C'est la première fois que je tricote ce point un peu long pour une couverture complète mais il me plait beaucoup. Au crochet c'est un point somptueux mais hors de mes compétences et on obtient des gaufres comme les patisseries du même nom !!! Avis aux gourmandes !
