What will be on your needles and hooks

this June?

The CoM (colour of the month) is.........

When researching the CoM, I discovered that  the colour purple symbolizes many things:

creativity, peace, magic/mystery, royalty....to name a few.

I'm sure you will find at least one of the above in each of the pics below.

Whatever your favourite shade, whatever your favourite stitch........

or whatever project you are trying to finish from previous months.....

we'd love to see it in June.

    • OOOH!  Such pretty squares, and texture, too!   Love them, and the children will be so happy to have them.

    • Scrummy squares and colour choice.   Great textured knitting Diane xx

    • Beautiful colour, Diane, although to be honest I think I love any shade of purple. When I was in High School our colours were red & grey and the school in the next town were purple, black & white. I envied them even back then!

    • Lovely plum shade of yarn (shows well on the background chosen for the photo too!) The stitch patterns really  have interesting texture and display the colour nicely.

How many stitches are in the pattern on the left square?  I would like to try to make one.

      • Hi Arlene, this is the Slip Stitch Square pattern. Wendy posted it to the Members Patterns Squares on August 30th 2013!  It is a very easy stitch and makes a good square shape.

Multiples of 5, on 4mm, I cast on 45 stitches using DK yarn, number of rows varies from 80-84.

        Row 1 = K2, slip 1, *K4, slip 1*, continue from *to* to last 3 stitches, slip 1, K2

Row 2 = K2,  *purl slipped stitch, K4*, contine from *to* to last 3 stitches, purl slipped stitch, K2

Think you will enjoy making this pattern. I also enjoy the Mitre pattern.

        Regards

        Diane

        • Thank you so much Diane.  I have started a square in the lavender/lilac yarn that I have on hand using your pattern.  It is heavier so I have cast on 40 stitches and have done about an inch and it is working so far.

This is the first time I have ever tried "slip stitch".  I like it!  I looked on the KAS pattern site but did not see it.  Is it there still?  I saved your post and the photo for my guide to make it. smile

    • GORGEOUS shade!! LOVE the patterns you have used, Diane.

    • Great texture and a fab shade of purple.

  •  16" purple square with a Minnie Mouse applique, kindly gifted to me by a lady that I buy appliques from.
