Ann,
Wow! You have been busy. Be sure to mark the outside of the package "No Commercial Value." There are instructions on the KAS website. Anything that is already made is a "drop in" and should not be listed on the customs list. They have to pay duty fees in South Africa to receive sweaters, blankets, etc but they can receive squares duty-free. So, we just list the squares on the outside. Also, enclose a slip of paper with your name and address, and a tally of all of the items enclosed in the package. That makes it easy for Erin and the ladies in South Africa to keep track of who sent what. They are working on a barcode system that should be ready soon...perhaps by your next package! Happy weekend!
Welcome, Ann! So glad you joined us. We are a friendly community of neddleworkers. I'm glad you are spreading the word to your fellow workers. Any questions, please ask!
Debbie
We run a challenge each month. For the next three months it is all about squares. We have a grand total of 55,900 squares we are trying to achieve and would love you to participate.
Don't forget to post photographs of your work. We have an awesome gallery of the work of the KAS community which is really inspiring.
Some of our members further support KAS by making a small monthly donation through Paypal (top left hand corner). This is invaluable help as it ensures we can continue to ensure that your work is speedily distributed to the most needy children in South Africa. We are deeply grateful for any donation we receive, be it monetary or squares to help the orphans. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum Ann. I hope you enjoy being with us and find the forum to be full of encouragement and support.
Excellent that you are already trying to rope others into joining us. Why the special affinity with Africa?
