POSTING A PARCEL?

Did you know that every parcel
Knit-a-square receives incurs a mandatory handling fee of $3.75 US, charged by the
South African Customs & Excise?
When mailing a package,
it is critical to write
BONA FIDE GIFT FOR CHARITY, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on your parcel and a declared value of $0 on your Customs Slip so KAS doesn't incur additional postage fees.
Are you sending from the U.S.? Please DO NOT insure your package.

"From Ronda on June 23, 2025...

Johannesburg and surrounding highveld areas are experiencing a very chilly winter … and we still have 2 or 3 months to go !!

Blankets are flying off the shelves … as you will see from the pics. We have received many requests for blankets, beanies and handwarmer sets to keep the creche children warm.
Wow … shelves looking a bit empty but that means three or four hundred warmer kids.
a rather too tidy store-room … but in a few weeks it could look QUITE different!
KAS is a fun place … always something to smile at.
Our blanket cake … ably photographed by Nathi.

But … there’s always a silver lining and we DO have 3 or 4 Gogo groups who have completed their blankets and are ready for more squares to sew … and so the wheel turns !
Here’s Viv in mid-sentence … she’s the KAS chatterbox, sewing on a KAS label.
Nomsa from Orange Farm - helping Wandi to sew KAS labels on blankets!

We are all sewing labels onto the blankets in stock before packing up…"

"Thank you for all the great pictures.   I think I see some of my blankets, but I also love seeing the beautiful blankets you put together from all the squares you receive.
We all love seeing the photos and appreciate the time and effort it takes to get them and send them out to us.
Those of us who are "of a certain age" can relate to the difficulty of getting down on the floor or up on a chair.  Safety MUST be your first concern.
Again, thank you for getting all the photos to us so we can enjoy the work of people all over the world."

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
