Hi Beverly,
I understand your confusion.
Project Purl has been helping us in the USA by accepting our squares and then sending them onto South Africa for us. This helped immensely with postage cost. They have gotten so many squares that they have had to put a cut off date of Aug 31 on accepting squares.
But We can still send squares directly to SA.
The blanket project is not discontinued.
Here is the address you will send your squares to in South Africa:
Address all your post to:Knit-a-square, Soweto Comfort Club, Private Bag X900, Bryanston 2021, South Africa
And here is a link to all the info about sending squares to South Africa:
or you can just click the KAS tab at the top of the main page.
So no worries, the need is great and KAS is committed to helping these children.
So keep on knitting Beverly ! But don't push so far as to flare up your Arthritis . There is no rush. Just go at your own pace.
Hopefully I didn't confuse you more.... LOL
If you need any help or have any questions at all orrr just want to chat feel free to drop me a line.
Welcome to our warm KAS community. It's great to see you. We hope you will enjoy the forum and your region's group. You should join the USA group.
There are lots of great discussions going on in the forum, including the monthly challenges.
We have a challenge every month, if you want to get involved please do. It's not compulsory at all but some of the work done is just lovely. Have a look at the November challenge - the SLIP-OVER (under challenges in the main forum) this will give you an idea of some of the fantastic work this community is doing for the children of South Africa.
