That's really kind of you, Christine. Thanks. They may have added their squares to the online total (or they may not want to) but I haven't seen the school mentioned, and Cundall Manor (where my brother taught) got quite a few mentions when they contributed last year, which was fun for the kids. Just collected a load more squares from a lady in town and am making up the final box for Jigsaw. Thanks again. Belinda.

Hi Christine, glad you liked the photo of the teddies.  It was fun to make the clothes.  Do you knit or crochet ?  I see you are a new member, welcome.  The U.K. group has quite a few members.  I'm in northern Ontario but do have connections to England.  My husband was born near Middlesbrough so we do know where Scarborough is !

Hi Christine. Just noticed your connection with St Peter's School. A lady called Kathleen Batters rang me today, as she had taken squares knitted by the children, to the PO to send them to SA, and been quoted £74 postage!! She then remembered my letter in the paper about Jigsaw's offer, and I gave her their address in London. Think she will find that's cheaper! I asked how many squares the children had knitted and she said she thought about 200, but wasn't sure. Just wondered if you had any way of finding out, as they should be on the tally, if they're not already. Another lady just rang to say she's bringing a load more here tomorrow. Well done, Scarborough! With regards, Belinda.

Hi Christine, have seen your comments about meeting other KASers. You may like to check out the discussion 'yours live' 2012. It may be a good 2 hour drive but certainly worth it! Hope you are enjoying being part of this wonderful community  :)

Same here, Christine. All the best. Belinda.

Would love to, Christine. Wonder if we could form a Scarborough KAS group. Only know of one lady called Karen who lives in Nafferton but comes to Scarborough regularly. See you've found more contacts locally though. Couldn't find this page earlier -sorry. Not very computer-literate! All the best. Belinda.

Hi Christine-  nice to "meet" you. No, I don't have any contact with other KASers in the area, except for just at the moment, as people are bringing me squares they knitted after a couple of letters I had in the paper. Any I get I'm sending to Jigsaw in London as long as I get them before Dec 15th! It would certainly be nice to meet others though. Are you in Scarborough/

Welcome to KAS, Christine from across the Pond in Canada.  I was born in Yorkshire many years ago.  I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too.  Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above.  To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the UK group or any groups you wish, to chat with.  Any questions just PM me. :)  So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.  And now we’re helping out over in Zimbabwe too and they need everything over there.  I just love making a real difference in a child’s life.  So welcome aboard!

Hi Christine, Welcome to the KAS forum and I hope you enjoy being part of this friendly & lively community. Do you knit or crochet or both? Around the world caring people are all taking direct action and team-working with the Ladies of the Soweto Comfort Club - it is making a difference to many parentless children.  When you've had a chance to look around the site you would be very welcome to join the UK group for more local news and chat.
