Cat sanctuary blankets...lovely!  2 of my daughters volunteer at the 2nd Chance Pet Network here, they're very active trapping and spaying and neutering feral cats from the dump as well as adopting out cats, some dogs and gineau pigs too. My 3rd daughter works fulltime at a no-kill shelter in South Dakota and is really fed up that so many people won't fix their animals, they get swamped.   I want to adopt another cat but we're so busy over the summer I must wait until fall so that I can be around when our current cat has a hissy fit over the "newcomer".  But as Vincent is getting a tad chubby, he needs a lively 3-6 month old to get him going again and slimming down! :D

Welcome to KAS, Christine from across the Pond in the middle of Canada.  I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. My mum was an expert knitter, I taught myself crochet.  I can knit and purl but glaciers move faster, lol.  Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above.  To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the bouncy UK group or any group you wish, to chat with.  Any questions just PM me. :)  So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.

HI Christine... it depends really on what else I am sending... probably about 20 is a good number for squares, and I always send it surface mail as a small packet I think.  It is helpful to get an up to date  price list from the Post Office (or online) and I usually weigh first on my kitchen scales to make sure the Post Office gets it right!!!.. sometimes have to watch that one!
