Hi Debby and welcome to KAS. My daughter is very fussy too about what my 2 grandsons wear, though I have knitted them both a scarf with matching hat. My older grandson Joshua would like me to knit him a white coat! Not ideal for a 3 year old I think.
I knitted a jumper from an old 1950's pattern not so long ago only to find it needed a zip!
