Hi Gerda - yes, Jessie and Sandy are glad to be home. They keep coming in to make sure we haven't gone away again!! Our daughter used to come and look after them whenever we went away, but she has since moved to Bristol, which is really too far for her to come as often as she would like - although she still says that she will spend time here with them from time-to-time.

I'm sure that you and your family are going to have a great holiday at the cottage, despite what the weather might do. Great walks for the dogs too. From the picture that Tina posted on the forum, the area around the cottage looks gorgeous; and the cottage has a veranda - I have always wanted to live in a house with a veranda!

Enjoy your break, Gerda. Take care. Love, Angela x

Hi Gerda - thanks for your messages. I have given Sandy and Jessie a kiss for you! That was more than a pleasure! We have been away for a few days, down to Hampshire to see our youngest son and his family, and Jessie and Sandy had a few days 'holiday' in a 'feline hotel' !!!!! They didn't see it that way. Needless to say, they are pleased to be back home and back in their own garden. It was lovely to visit Hampshire again and, as always, lovely to see our family - our little grandson is nearly 16 months old and is such a joy. It is always a wrench to pull ourselves away for the homeward journey. The weather was and still is quite changeable. Nothing new there then! Hope all is well with you and your family. Will chat again soon. Take care. Angela x

Hi Gerda - a GO-OVER is an idea for a jumper for older children that Anne Powell in Canada came up with. We are experimenting at the moment. The idea is to join 4 squares front 4 squares back and add wide armholes. Squares and armholes varying in size by making bigger squares. Called GO-OVER because this garment will be big enough to go over other warm items of clothing. Pattern soon. It is fun to make. Squares for blankets are still the most important item, but for those who have the time, the above jumper will be much appreciated by the cold and sick children in Africa. Best wishes

agh kittens, cats, small and big are just tooooooooooooooooo special. Have 2 adopted cheetahs who live in a wildlife sanctuary outside Johannesburg. Ingelosi (angel in Zulu language) and Zingela (hunter). She is 7 years old, and he about 16 months. They are gorgeous. Sister Ronda took me to this cheetah sanctuary when I was in S.A 2 years ago and that was that!!!! I will be visiting my cheetahs in Mar/April 2010! Farming families in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) often had cheetahs as pets - they are the most delightful animals and make great big "kitty" pets - they even purr. So - all cats - I LOVE!!

Hi Gerda, good to hear from you (the time here is 6.30 in the evening). Thank you for your introduction to your family and pets. I just love animals of all kinds. Sandy is my ginger tom, he is such a charming fellow and loves life! Jessie, is my little girl and Sandy's natural sister, and us described as primarily black tortoiseshell. They are both outdoor types and love patrolling their garden.

I think our weather is very similar to yours at the moment, wet, wet, wet. We have a couple of weeks recently that were really nice and everyone thought that summer had arrived, but it didn't last very long. We get a few nice days and then back to very changeable days.

Enjoy your day. Take care. Angela x

Thank you Gerda for your lovely comments. The garden isn't always so colourful, especiall when the rhododendrons and spirea have gone for another year. Springtime and early summer does see quite a lot happening with the shrubs and trees. We have had quite a bit of heavy rain, which doesn't help the blossom to last longer. Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures. Take care. Angela xx

Hi Gerda, I was pretty certain that you were Tina's Mom - the clue was in some of the comments made by Tina on the pictures she posted. I am so pleased to be able to get to know both of you. Do you live very close to each other? Enjoy your evening. Angela xx
