We run a challenge each month. For the next three months it is all about squares. We have a grand total of 55,900 squares we are trying to achieve and would love you to participate.

Don't forget to post photographs of your work. We have an awesome gallery of the work of the KAS community which is really inspiring.

Did you receive the latest ezine? If not you can view it here: http://www.knit-a-square.com/Square_Circle-backissues.html. Follow the blog: www.allfororphans.com for a different perspective on why we need to look out for these children. And for precise details about the project, visit www.knit-a-square.com

Some of our members further support KAS by making a small monthly donation through Paypal (top left hand corner). This is invaluable help as it ensures we can continue to ensure that your work is speedily distributed to the most needy children in South Africa. We are deeply grateful for any donation we receive, be it monetary or squares to help the orphans. Thank you.

Hi Jennifer. You were asking about 10" squares. I have ended up with those myself. If the yarn is very soft you could add another 3 inches to the bottom, by ribbing or just shell stitches then add shoulder straps and you'd have a slipover vest made....two 10 inchers put together would make a 20 inch circumference, large enough for a small child. I remember taking two and seaming their short sides together and gathering one long side and presto, a hat. I imagine they might be able to fit in 10 inch squares into blankets, I'm just not sure, they're that much bigger. It frustrates me when I end up at 10 inches when I swear I started out at 8 inches, lol, so I've come up with alternatives you see! :D

      luv, Jeanne ;)

Hello Jennifer, welcome to the forum. I hope you will enjoy being a part of this very friendly and supportive community. When you've had a chance to look around what has become a very large site if you feel you would like to join the UK group you would be very welcome. If you have any queries there is always someone happy to help. Do you knit or crochet or both?
