Welcome to KAS, Joan from way over in the middle of Canada. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. That's fantastic that you've done 50 hats for us. As it's often quite busy "on the ground" in South Africa, they often don't get the "parcels recieved" list updated monthly though they do their best. So far, to our knowledge only one package ever went astray and that was 2 years ago. Everything else seems to be getting through. Here is the link to the discussions on tallies and the latest info as they are able to provide it. http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/categories/tallies-1/list... It might be a couple of months until your name shows up as they're all volunteers and getting the hats and blankets to the children is the highest priority in the South African winter. There are plans for a barcode system to make it much easier to show people when their packages arrived...it isn't finished yet as the people responsible had to pause to deal with outside of KAS issues but it will be finished, given a bit more time. :) Most of us just send the packages in trust and faith and so far so good. I understand, though, your desire to wait and see.
Do also check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
