Hello Joybelle....Linda Maltby passed your request on to me about teaching volunteering in South Africa as I have just come back from doing this for the last few weeks. I found my placement on the Internet there are loads listed but you have to sort through them carefully as some are not what they seem. I taught everthing but Afrikaans as I speak very little and really enjoyed the experience. I am going back for another three months at the end of the year and hope to go back for many more years to come. I am just about to start adding the experience to my blog on this site.
Best wishes and welcome to the KAS family.....Julia
Hello Joybelle and welcome to our friendly KAS community.
With your wonderful enthusiasm for making afghans and giving them away, I am really hope that you will love being part of this community. Your squares will really make a difference to these children.
Do you want to contribute to our KAS ebook? We are asking people to submit their thoughts about crocheting/knitting for charity. You can find it in the main forum in the featured box.
We are still continuing our July Challenge - keep a newborn warm, making blankets for abandoned babies, and there have been some great results for the August in Africa challenge - you can see photographs under the photos menu. (Details of both challenges in the main forum).
