Judy, the blog doesn't have to be long-winded - to start it off give an outline of your young people and then add a line or two to the blog when you can provide an update. The photographs are the most important because when the youngsters see them on the Forum it raises their self-worth and helps them to feel valued. Anyhow, please do not feel pressured, we know just how dedicated people like yourself are to this type of work - and how much it can soak up your energy! Take care. Pam
That is brilliant Judy, don't forget to take some photos and place them on the Menu bar photo tab, even, better start a blog for the group and keep us posted on their progress. Our members are extremely kind and supportive and would add kind comments which you could share with the teenagers. Anyhow, you must be very busy, but welcome aboard!
If you appreciate a “challenge”, you might like to join the Monthly challenge. This is a fun way to try new ideas. Every month, a theme is chosen to challenge the forum members to create something new and different......it could be a new colour, a different stitch or a totally new way of knitting/ crocheting. An 8” square is the perfect size for experimenting.
This month’s challenge is Pick it from the Garden in May. A great way to try your hand at making flowers, trees, butterflies, dandelions....anything that can be found in the garden. Or perhaps a solid colour to represent the leaves in the garden or the petals on a flower.
Sometimes making the basic square is a wonderful way to relax and still help the children. Plain Jane squares, as they are affectionately called, are the backbone of KAS. They are always needed.
Whatever you decide, we would love to see photos of your work. Click on the photo option at the top of the page, click “Add” and follow the prompts.
If you haven’t already, please read through the welcome message on the forum main page for helpful hints and things that might interest you. http://forum.knit-a-square.com
