Thanks for the compliments on my crocheting. I've been crocheting for many, many years. My aunt taught me when I was 10. Since I joined KAS I have been crocheting more than ever !
Have you had a look at the crochet squares in the KAS Pattern Book [see tab above] ? They have some fairly simple patterns and hopefully easy to follow ! I also like doing Plain Janes with stripes. If you decide to try a pattern and are having problems, email me and I'll see what I can do to help you through it.
Hi Lois, it is marvellous to see all the square made into blankets and know they are going to be keeping children warm during the cold winter months.
How exciting to be sending your first set of squares ! Though I still get excited and I've been sending for 4 years :-)
There is info on posting in the forum tab[see toolbar at the top] Please scroll to and check out 'Postage 2013' and 'KAS Resources and Postage form'. The new postage form will help Ronda and the volunteers with recording the squares received.
Were you aware that the US group has been offered a great deal on postage? Humble Stitches in Florida will send your squares/garments to South Africa if you mail them to them before the middle of December. Here's the link: http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/free-shipping-for-squar...
You might have time to take advantage of this offer !!
Lois,
Welcome to KAS! I am not far from you in suburban Philadelphia. We are a friendly international community of knitters and crocheters. I'm so glad you joined us!
Debbie
We run a challenge each month. For the next three months it is all about squares. We have a grand total of 55,900 squares we are trying to achieve and would love you to participate.
Don't forget to post photographs of your work. We have an awesome gallery of the work of the KAS community which is really inspiring.
Some of our members further support KAS by making a small monthly donation through Paypal (top left hand corner). This is invaluable help as it ensures we can continue to ensure that your work is speedily distributed to the most needy children in South Africa. We are deeply grateful for any donation we receive, be it monetary or squares to help the orphans. Thank you.

Hi Lois, here is the direct link to the postage form. I see why you couldn't find it. Erica has called it' Package Inventory'.
