  I used to get the Lion Brand Yarn Newsletter, and they featured a different charity every time.  I think it was early 2009 that the newsletter mentioned Knit A Square, and I believe they had officially started KAS a few months before that.  I think it tells the whole story on the main page:  http://www.knit-a-square.com =).

  I've been sending things to KAS since it started, and I've never heard of them sending receipts out for the items received.  Hope that helps =).

  Welcome to KAS Marion!  Sorry I'm so late in this, the dust is just settling now from a holiday invasion of family at my house.  I loved it but wow it's much saner now here, well as sane as I ever get, lol.  I suggest checking out the Main Page in the Header above, where you'll find a link to the New Member Guide which has my slightly convoluted route to the Discussion Boards in it.  That will be fixed, soon I hope.  Great to have you with us and hope to see you around the boards!  :)  Any problems give me a PM.

  Hi Marion,  if you click on K-A-S on the main menu bar it will take you to the KAS Website page and as your scroll down you'll come to a long list of choices including postage.

   

  As you are based in the USA, I'm hoping that when our American Kasers see your plight you,'' receive further advice.  Our UK info is totally different!

   

  Thank you so much for wanting to keep the kids warm - it will truly make a difference.
