Marla, I replied to your comment on postal rates. I find it is helpful to post photos on the forum. That way I get some feedback on what I am sending and then don't worry as much about when the parcel arrives in South Africa. I have seen some of my squares in the newsletter.....and I know they aren't listed !!!
P.S. meant to comment on your photo. Love the hibiscus. We have a double hibiscus which we keep inside, of course. We put it on the deck for the summer and then it blooms when it comes inside in the fall. It also blooms again in the spring....this week in fact !
Hi Marla, isn't technology wonderful.....if you can figure it out :-) I had to get a new digital camera last fall as mine "snapped" one day as I was taking photos. Turns out something broke inside and it would cost a lot to repair, just cheaper to buy another. Such a waste !!!
I find when I make crochet squares I use a hook size smaller than suggested and sc or hdc to make the square warmer.
Marla I've known sea mail packages to take 6-12 weeks to arrive, ie. 3 months but that being said, it takes time to record by hand all the arriving parcels and consolidate the numbers and then post them online. I know people want to know earlier but with recent family happenings overseas and other things and holidays and so forth, they got behind on the "arriving parcels' tally again. I tend to watch the photos to see if stuff of mine got through okay. I see a square here, a hat or toy there. They did a survey in the first year of operation and found of all packages received only one went astray, if that's any comfort?

Hi Marla, welcome to the forum. So glad you joined the Canadian group.
Do you knit or crochet ? I've been crocheting for KAS for 2 years and feel I am making a difference in children's lives.
Please post photos of your squares.....we love to see everyone's work.
Linda
