Fun to hear from you! I'm so excited because I just stopped at Goodwill today and found a couple huge bags of yarn. Now Rona and I can take them to the elementary school when we teach the kids there to knit/crochet to make squares! Oh. I forgot to tell you that I think we are leaving about a 39 inch tail on the squares at the end so they can be joined together with other squares. I'm going to see if anyone on Craig's List (do you know what that is?) would like to donate yarn or hooks or needles. Stay WARM!
Hi Mirelle
Welcome to our warm KAS community. We hope you will enjoy the forum and your region's group.
There are lots of great discussions going on in the forum, including the monthly challenges.
We are still continuing our July Challenge - keep a newborn warm, making blankets for abandoned babies, and there were some great results for the August in Africa challenge - you can see photographs under the photos menu. (Details of both challenges in the main forum). We're also continuing our September challenge which is also under "challenges" in the forum and have just begun the October challenge which is fascinating, please see click the link for further information:
Welcome Mirelle...We are all sorta friends on here, I visit with Rona and Debbie and Karen...you will soon learn to get around...so nice you know how to crochet, and hope you get to look at the forums etc...and keep crocheting...this is such a worthy cause...join in anytime...
Hello Mirelle! I'm a friend of Debbie's in Colorado - welcome to KAS! It's a lot of fun to make some squares that you know will be used well and so very much appreciated by the children in southern Africa. Everyone is so friendly here, welcome again! :-)
Yea Mirelle! You joined! Welcome. Now you can hit the invite button at top of your page and enter all your crocheting/knitting friends' email addresses. It looks like you're the only Swedish member so far. :( Maybe you can start a "Group" just for your Swedish knitsters. If you go to knit-a-square.com you can see how to mail the squares, etc. Stay warm. Snow is coming!!
