Hi Patricia. Thanks for liking our country. You've one-upped me as I've always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand, even have relatives in Perth but haven't gotten over there yet.
I don't think I'd call it "sundry other items" hon to go through breast cancer and moving to a retirement village! I trust things are going well with you now? Do you like the village? Is it townhomes or trailers or an apartment block or? Just wondering as my mother-in-law ended up retiring into a great townhouse complex by a river, very pretty.
A beanie and bag of squares sent off? Bravo! We just finished a postal strike here so I'm now readying some squares and a sweater that got done while nothing was moving. It's a bit hot here, summer, so I'll leave tackling a Go-Over or Cuddle until it's cool again, but I'm fine working on squares and hats. :) Good to chat with you!
Welcome to KAS, Patricia, from across the world in Canada. I'm not a Gran yet but my kids have had enough of my crochet efforts so it's great for me to find a way to enjoy my hobby and help others and I've been concerned about the African orphans for ages, so I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the Aussie group or any group you wish, to chat. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
