The themes are just for fun and inspiration for each other, really.
K-A-S is most appreciative of any squares.....and it doesn't have to be in lots of 35.....so no pressure at all. :))
I hope you will have a little time to spend there and see how it all works. It would be my dream to go there and 'check it out', but flying would be a major hurdle for me. I like my feet on the ground. :))
Just thought I would send this link to assist you in the packaging and sending of your parcel/s, if you should choose to post rather than hand deliver. It includes a packing slip and address slip.
Knitting or crocheting an 8" square or two or possibly even a few is a wonderful gift for the children. They love to receive their blankets, created from squares, which come from kindly, caring folk such as yourself, from over 60 countries all over our world. PJs (Plain Janes as they are affectionately known) are the backbone of all our blankets. These are single colour squares that are in garter stitch(knitting) or single crochet as they are very solid and provide a contrast to a picture/striped/patterned square or two that may be added to a blanket.By clicking on the KASpattern book tab at the top of the page or our other square pattern discussion http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/member-s-patterns-squaresyou can also find lots of patterns provided by our fellow K-A-Sers. If you would kindly check out our wishlist, you can see what items we are currently focusing on. http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/wish-list-2017
Clicking on the 'Helpful Hints' tab at the top of the page, will possibly answer many initial questions you may have .Any other questions...please ask...we love to help. :))
You might like to hand deliver your squares to the K-A-S office. The office is only open on Tuesdays, so please call ahead.
Address: Surrey Bizhub, Office 1G, 330 Surrey Avenue (between Dover Road and Hill Street), Randburg

If you'd like to see what other KASers have been making please click on the photo tab at the top of the page....and feel free to add photos of your creations...we would love to see them. Just click on 'add photos' and follow the prompts.

Thankfully, we have Leanne Hunt, who visits regularly and shares the most wonderful recounts of her visits. It's almost like being there. You can find the recounts of 2018, thus far, here: http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/that-warm-fuzzy-feeling...
Happy knitting. xo
