We run a challenge each month. For the next three months it is all about squares. We have a grand total of 55,900 squares we are trying to achieve and would love you to participate.
Don't forget to post photographs of your work. We have an awesome gallery of the work of the KAS community which is really inspiring.
Some of our members further support KAS by making a small monthly donation through Paypal (top left hand corner). This is invaluable help as it ensures we can continue to ensure that your work is speedily distributed to the most needy children in South Africa. We are deeply grateful for any donation we receive, be it monetary or squares to help the orphans. Thank you.

Hi Sudha, just came across your request on how to get involved. First of all, welcome !
One suggestion is to join the US group http://forum.knit-a-square.com/group/unitedstates
Do you knit or crochet ? Which ever you do your squares will be most welcome. They must be 8" square with a 36" tail for sewing into the blanket. The other end should be woven into the square.
Planet Purl has generously offered to send squares to S. A. for the U.S. people so this would be a great place to send your squares as it will save on postage....which means more money for yarn ! www.planetpurl.com/planetpurl/static/showpage.htm?showpage=warm_hea...
Here is the discussion:
"For every square submitted to Planet Purl by our readers, Planet Purl will make an additional $1 cash donation to the charities, up to $1000. We will also be holding a drawing at the end of the charity drive for participants. Every square you send that meets program guidelines will give you an entry into our prize drawing for $100 at your favorite yarn shop.
