Re your query of how I knew it was your birthday...hee hee.....if you are on the 'main page' birthdays are listed daily on the right hand side, you just need to scroll down the page a bit.
I knit squares, vests, hats and occasionally a sweater...don't get that much done between work and family...and chatting on this site...lol. Since August when I ran the challenge for that month I have been hooked on making squares for the monthly challenges. This month's Christmas challenge is looking like loads of fun....and the squares can be as simple or complicated as I like...lol
Welcome to Knit A Square Susan! I'm a tad east of you in NW Ontario. I love that I can make a direct difference in the world this way, directly from my heart and crochet hook to the body and heart of an Aids orphan in Africa. (besides it's spared my family who knows how many gaudy pairs of slippers that probably don't fit!) My crocheting has improved vastly and I can actually make square squares now, wonder of wonders! Do check out the New Member Guide on the Main Page listed in the header above. You can also get to the Discussion Groups by clicking on Patterns (up above) then on Squares and then on "All Discussions" which pops up just above the Squares title on that page. Convoluted but works for me! :) I find this cause very inspiring and what a great excuse to go buy more yarn!!!
