It entirely turned mine upside down.
I found KAS the same way.
And it is Great to have that feeling that you CAN DO SOMETHING !!
I live across the water from Seattle on the peninsula.

I would say Winter is fast approaching !
I have pics of my Son and Grandson up. I also have pics of myself and my husband and my Grandson... Not sure which ones you saw.
As for the Initial squares - some I knitted the letter, have you seen those patterns ?
But most I just knitted or double crocheted (faster) the squares
And then picked out a font on my computer and printed off the letters I needed , cut them out, pinned em on and stem stitched around em. SOOOOO SImple !!!!!

I see from Gayles comment that you have an injured back.
Is it bad ?
I have been out of work for two years with a work related back injury.
No fun !
But at least I can knit & crochet etc.
I was so shocked to find folks from our part of the country !
I am a transplant but have been in WA for ... 15 years or so...
Love it now !
