Please go to the U.S Forum page on the KAS website and read about a new fund-raising drive to raise funds for a newer vehicle for Ronda. She is in great need of a more reliable car to take the blankets to the creches. A donation of any amount is valuable. Thanks
Hi Tracey. I love your profile photo. Happy times are with you now you are on the KAS community forum. It has been great for my health and wellbeing. I have a lot of fun.
Hi Tracy, that's great that your sister is also interested. We need lots and lots of squares to keep the children warm. Getting friends to donate mailing costs is a good way to get non-knitters to help.
I crochet, I've have tried my hand at knitting but.....I much prefer crocheting :-)
Also Laurie in Canada has offered to mail squares for us. The costs to Canada would be cheaper than to South Africa.
Here's the information Rachel from California, put on the forum:
The best (cheapest) way to send them right now, is to sent them to Laurie in Canada who has offered to send them on to South Africa for us. If you keep your package under 4 pounds, it costs $15.95 to send it to her; if it is over 4 pounds, it costs about twice as much. I figured it out and, even though I usually send big boxes to South Africa (the bigger the box, the less it works out to be per ounce), it costs half as much to send them to Laurie. I just sent her 2 packages, and each one contained about 30 squares. Depending on how heavy your squares are, you might be able to get those and the socks in one package. Here is Laurie's mailing info:
