Happy Birthday Jan, and enjoy the day. Pam

Don't worry Jan, it arrived safely!  Thank you.  Yes, this is a really friendly and supportive sight - free of negativity and criticism.  If you amend your privacy settings just slightly (see box with your name on right-hand side of page) you can invite anyone you feel comfortable with to be a friend.  Once they agree you can exchange messages directly into your inbox.  At the moment any messages sent to you are moderated.  I tried to place you on my friendship list, but it won't let me. This is not a problem as you will notice many members keep in contact by having conversations on the discussion pages anyway!  Bye for now, just off to work!

Jan, sent a message earlier, but think it has disappeared into a black internet hole!  These dollies will bring comfort to a child whose family has lost everything and is traumatised.  You'll be wiping away some tears and give a child a smile again, well done!

Welcome to Kas, Jan.  The children so much need toys, they've literally never had anything to play with or to hold and love.  The sewn pattern for dollies link we have here on KAS is beautiful and I think highly adaptable for any creative differences one wishes to make, skin tones, dress or hair.  I am sure there are more excellent easy to sew dolly patterns out there.  If you find some fast and easy doll patterns please do feel free to share the patterns or links to them with us here.  Many of us enjoy taking a break from knitting and crochet to sew dollies though many people still prefer to knit or crochet them too.

I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too.  Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above.  To reach the Discussions just click Forum above. Any questions just PM me. :)  Welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters, dolls and toys direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
