I only put my address on the outside of the package. The next package I send I intend to write a letter, but I have to say letter writing is not my forte.
After my first package I decided to write a card for the child receiving the jumper, to let them know it was made for them with love. I wrap each jumper/hat in a plastic bag and label that with the size, type of yarn used and if it's for a boy or girl. I then put (usually two) the parcels in a postage bag.
Any other questions? Well I'm happy to help. As an aside I joined RAVELRY which is a USA with lots of free patterns, I think several people from this site have joined.
Hi Linda, how exciting to send your first parcel ! I remember sending mine and I'm still excited about sending parcels. I"m happy that I am able to help keep the children warm. Do you have all the postage info ? Just in case, I'll just repeat it here: List the value of the parcel as 0 or some UK people have found they have to list 1 GBP before the PO will accept the parcel. Also mark it as "No Commercial Value" and "For Charity". I always include a paper with my name and address on it as well as a list of the contents to save the volunteers some time. They write down everything that is sent !!!!
How many cats do you have ? We have 3 and they all like to help when I'm crocheting :-) The other day it was a wonder I finished a square with the "help" I was getting....sometimes the yarn is quite damp from kitty bites.
Looking forward to photos of your squares !
Hope you are enjoying your weather. We understand from family that the snowdrops are up. We're still enjoying lots of snow and winter weather.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. If I don't know the answer someone on the forum will !
Hi Linda and welcome to KAS. I was born on Tyneside but came to Leicester in 1975 when I was first married. I have many happy memories of holidays in Scarborough. I love the North Yorkshire moors. I have found this site very friendly and there is always someone willing to lend a hand with any queries.

Where are you located in Yorkshire? We are in Canada but have family in the north east, mainly Redcar and Barnard Castle area.
