Welcome to KAS, Marlene. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above. Any questions just PM me. :)
The address all blanket squares, completed blankets (7x5 8 inch squares in size), hats and vests are sent to is:
Knit-A-Square
c/o Soweto Comfort Club
Private Bag x900
Bryanston 2021
SOUTH AFRICA
We mark on the outside of the package/box/envelope "knitting(or crochet) for charity ONLY, no commercial value". We also put "No commercial value" on any customs declarations slips your post office makes you fill out. If you are sending 100% wool items please include a note inside the package saying so, or write it somewhere on the outside as these items are put to one side especially for the children living out in the open under the rocks and trees in the hillsides around Johannesburg, since wool stays warm when wet and the rains are coming, as winter sets in there.
So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
