Hi anne welcome on board. Thanks for your reply. I have yet to find out postage. Will probably put mine in envelope with waterproof lining, smaller the package the better I believe since postal rules changed as I have learnt to my cost with ebay! Mind you dont mind really for such a good cause, its nice to feel usefull again. Last time I was in Grimsby was to pick up my puppy, long way to go but worth it although she has been up to all sorts of mischief today. Happy knitting Kath senior
Yes Ann we're about 19 hours drive away from Toronto. Even though we're in the same province it's about 1200 miles if I remember right. A "bit" of a trek eh? We've done it a few times, spectacular scenery around the north shore of Lake Superior but only drive that in good weather, otherwise we take the 'northern' flatter route. Our son works in Toronto and just flew to Thunder Bay (4 hours east of here) and is taking the bus up here to visit us today so I'm quite chuffed about that. He'll be here over the weekend for Easter dinner and to celebrate his birthday which happened on the 16th. TTYL!
Welcome to KAS, Ann from across the Pond in Canada. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Hi Ann and welcome to KAS. I joined last November after a lay off from knitting of 25years and yes I've become an addict. Once bitten it's very difficult not to buy wool.
The site takes a little getting used to because there is just so much information hidden away.
May I suggest you check out the report written by Linda Simmons on Yours 2011. It was an event held in Butlins Skegness in March. Linda is waiting for next years dates but I thought it maybe something you would consider just being up the road from Skeggie.
I can second Michele's comment that everyone is friendly and very helpful.
Happy Knitting, Barbara
Welcome Ann. You'll find everyone really friendly and helpful here. Am sure you'll enjoy knitting for such a wonderful cause but beware-it is very addictive!
