Hi Kathryn! I've not been on the forum much lately and I'm just now seeing the gorgeous work you have been doing! Your hats and vests are just stunning and they children will be so thrilled and warm with them! Thank you for sharing your photos with us, they are so inspirational!
Hi Kathryn, I understand your comments about computers. I've come kicking and screaming into the internet age ! It's a good thing my husband worked with computers so I have help if (when) I need it .
Thanks for your compliments about my work. It is the children that keep my fingers crocheting.
Hi Kathryn, I've added your totals to the tally for you. I love the hooded Go-Over, somehow I missed it when you posted the photo !
Adding comments, etc to the forum can be quite daunting ! I've been a member for a number of years and still find things I can't figure out :-)
To add to the tally I right click and copy the latest totals then paste into the comment box. I'm able to add my items and change the totals. Let me know if you have a problem the next time you add items and I'll help. Always fun to learn something new
I know what you mean about just thinking of the children making your needles click that bit faster. And now you have some fluffy wool to work with! I's so lovely to created different effects with, makes it exciting! you really do make some wonderful Go-Overs, I can't wait to see the next one - have fun!
I was sorry to hear about Jess's potential problem. Barney lived for 14 years with very little to trouble him - he became arthritic in his final year but had some really good tablets to help him. Josh had major surgery for his discs aged 2 and has not looked back since. Occasionally he has a couple of days when he can't jump on the furniture but still regularly walks 3 miles a day with me. He would like to sit on my knee whilst I knit but has to be content with my feet! I am going to Nottingham Jigsaw next week to deliver squares that I have made and those of my Mum and her Age UK "club" friends.
ah thanks for your lovely comments Kathryn! I really admire your work to, lovely colours, great ideas - and lots of it! I really love your toys, such lovely little characters, they will make great friends over in SA.
My name is also Kathryn by the way, and my neighbour who also knits for KAS is a Kathryn - but we are both called Kathy (amongst other things!) - nice to meet another Kathryn! xx
We had two Cavalier Kning Charles- We said sad farewells to our Tri - Barney (aged 14) Sept. 2010 , two days after I left work. A very sad time and quite difficult for Josh, our Blenheim, who was 5 at the time and had only known life with Barney. He was quite lonely for a while. He is heaps better now and still a lively fun dog who loves to walk in the forests when we are on holiday in Norfolk.
I'm sorry that the picture quality is so bad but when I when came to photograph this I found that my camera battery was missing so I asked my husband to use his camera and he made it so small it's lost definition. However, maybe this will help.
I constructed this Go-over in exactly the same way as the picture on your page.
Then I took two more squares (A & B) and joined them on one side. I then folded them as I've tried to show and attached the seamed side to the back edge of the Go-over neck, and the folded sections to the front edges of the neck. Does that make sense? Then I seamed the top of the squares to create a hood shape and crocheted around all the edges to neaten.
I hope this will help. I don't normally put hoods on Go-overs but as I was given some suitable squares I thought I'd have a go. As you can see by my photos I like to fiddle and I most like making clothes for teddies and decorating squares but I do limit myself so that I don't waste too much time.
