Hi Ann, I have only just come across you comments of 29th June and I notice that Sandy has responded to some of your queries. I can say that so far all of my squares have arrived in Soweto safely. When I first started knitting for KAS I sent 3 squares followed by 5 and then a 12. Noticing that other people were starting to send larger amounts, I gradually increased mine - my last lot was a batch of 20 squares and they arrived ok. If you go into knit-a-square.com (a link to this can be found at the top of your page - to the right of 'My Page'. This will take you into the KAS web site and there is lots of information about KAS, knitting yarns and needle sizes, etc, etc, and lots of pictures of the children who have already received blankets, vests and tops. I apologise for not getting back to you before tonight and you may already have found the information I am referring to. Hope to chat with you again soon. Take care. Angela x
We are very confident Ann that every thing is arriving safely in South Africa, so I think you can send your parcels and be happy that they will get there and make a child warm. Thank you for your contribution already.
Hi Angela thank you for welcoming me to the forum. I am also a member of Loving Hands Charity knitting group but was so touched by the children on knit a square site I just felt I had to do some knitting. I love seeing all the squares sent and am so pleased to see that my first package arrived o.k.
Could you tell me how much it is safe to send at one time so that it arrives safe. I like knitting corner to corner baby blankets would it be ok to send say two in a package. Lots of love Ann xx
Hi Ann - just a little note to say hello and welcome to the KAS Forum - you will find that everyone is very enthusiastic, friendly and caring. Enjoy your knitting/crocheting. Angela x
