Please go to the U.S. Forum page on the KAS website and read about a new fund-raising drive to raise funds for a newer vehicle for Ronda. She is in great need of a more reliable car to take the blankets to the creches. A donation of any amount is valuable. Thanks
Hi, Catherine! I live in the Philly suburb Radnor, and am looking into starting a Philly-area discussion group. I noticed one or two regional groups popping up lately. This might be a good idea to make it easier to get together for a knitting circle from time to time, talk about regional yarn bargains, etc. What do you think?
I am also a teacher and have involved my students in this project. I have been tutoring at Springside School in Chestnut Hill for some years now. Where do you teach? I love the idea of a KAS gathering. There is a worldwide Knit a Square on the Go Day the first Saturday in May...that could be a good time to gather.
Welcome to KAS, Catherine from up in Canada above MN. Sorry I'm tardy in getting to welcoming you. Hope you've been getting better winter weather lately...we're supposed to live in the "frozen north" but we've had much nicer weather than you guys. Everytime I check the weather channels you guys are getting another storm! Hope you're dug out and hanging in there.
I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the enthusiastic USA group or any groups you wish, to chat with. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
And now we’re helping out over in Zimbabwe too and they need everything over there. I just love making a real difference in a child’s life. So welcome aboard!
Hey Catherine! Welcome from Cheltenham, suburban Philly. Where are you from? I've been knitting for KAS for a few years and find it to be one of the most rewarding things I do. There are a group of us who got together last fall for a "sit and knit." Perhaps we'll do it again...stay in touch!
