Welcome to KAS, Elaine from up in the Frozen North, aka Canada, lol. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above. Any questions just PM me. :) Welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
Boy, do I, as a Phillies Phan, envy you for living in Florida right now! I am SICK of winter and must, absolutely MUST, see a baseball game immediately!
Getting back to why I posted this, however... ;-)
I know you are going to LOVE being part of this forum. It's such a great place for support and advice, as well as friendship. Don't forget to join the US discussion group, and maybe also the Floridians' group? I'm not part of the latter, living, as I do, in Pennsylvania (where there are still a few piles of melting snow!), but it might be a good fit for you!
Welcome Elaine! So glad you joined us. To learn more about the website, go to the New Member Guide by clicking on the Main Idea tab above. You also might want to join a special interest group. You just click the Groups tab above. You can ask any questions here, too.

Hi Elaine,
Glad you liked the red blanket. I was rather pleased with it myself :-) And definitely a fast way to complete a blanket !
Linda x
Hi, Elaine!
Hey, thanks so much for the red ribbon -- my favorite color!!!
It's great you remembered my birthday; I appreciate it!
Have a great March, full of fun and challenging yarncraft!
Elaine,
I've asked that same question about the cotton yarn. I decided that I didn't want to use cotton for squares since it soaks up so much water, and they go through a rainy season at some point in South Africa. Some people mentioned that cotton yarn, if it is soft, might be good for the slipovers (simple vests worn under other clothing, mentioned here: http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/the-very-simplest-... and here: http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/slipover-knit-and-...). Welcome =)!
