Helen I really hear you about knitting keeping you from the biscuit tin. If my hands aren't busy crocheting I start getting the "munchies" myself! That's what I love about Knit-A-Square, we use basic stitches and basic items-squares, hats, Go-overs (a bunch of squares) and we directly impact little children who have nothing. I love feeling useful! And my crochet squares were rarely square. KAS has given me much practice. I've actually improved! :)
Welcome to Kas, Helen from across the Pond in Canada! I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above. Any questions just PM me. :) Welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
I know you'll enjoy being part of this dynamic, helpful, fun group! And the U.K. group, which I'm sure you'll be joining soon, is full of great discussions - for example, I wish we in the U.S. group had a discussion about bargain yarns! Also, the U.K. group members seem to get together frequently to knit/crochet, which sounds like so much fun!
