Ronda has expressed the need for a newer vehicle to transport squares and blankets. Helen Flagg has proposed to the US Group that we raise funds to help KAS purchase a car. The idea has gone global and there is an initiative on the forum about it. Check the latest ezine video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VK9mbUrGWI&feature=youtu.be
Also, The Humble Stitch Project has offered to ship all squares received in Florida by Dec 15th to South Africa for us for free. Check out their offer and the address on the Forum in the US Group.
Thanks Jennifer, Pixel is a real sweetie. He is also a very gentle cat. We have 3, the female is part Siamese and thinks she is a princess :-) The third is quite timid around other people but friendly with us. All 3 of them are great lap blankets !!!
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for your kind words. Anything I can do to help you along with your squares, just let me know.
Welcome to KAS! I see you've already been welcomed by two of our most lovely members, Jeanne and Christine. Enjoy your time on the forum and do post some photos of your work if you get the chance.
Welcome to KAS, Jennifer from Canada up above MN. My baby brother lives in Ogden which isn't far from you, with his wife and 4 kids. No, I haven't convinced him to learn to crochet or knit yet. Give me time! ;) I too am a crocheter. My mum was a knitting whiz, I'm a knitting plodder so crochet it is. Even there I have my adventures....too large sweater anyone? Ah we live and learn. And this place has a lot of EASY patterns, right up my alley. :)
I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. You can join the USA discussion group by clicking on Groups above and then clicking on the USA group to join. It's really easy. But you can join any group there or just stick to the Forum discussion boards. Entirely your choice. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
Hello Jennifer, lovely to have you join us, both on the forum and the Square-a-Day group. There hasn't been much activity there recently but I don't think that members have stopped knitting.
You're right - it is a great cause and also a wonderful place to learn new techniques and patterns. Everyone is very friendly and if you have any queries there is always someone happy to help. Looking forward to seeing your tallies and perhaps pictures?
