Welcome to KAS, Judith from across the Pond in Canada. I find KAS such a rewarding cause to be involved in and I hope you enjoy it too. Do check out the New Member Guide which is found by clicking "Main Page" in the header above. To reach the Discussions just click Forum above and if you click on Photos above, you will see items that are heading to Africa, in all colors and shapes, plus those that have arrived there. If you click on Groups, above, you can join the friendly UK group or any groups you wish, to chat with. Any questions just PM me. :) So, welcome to Knit A Square! Blankets and hats and sweaters direct from our hands to their hearts, a win-win.
I am really pleased that you have taken up knitting - I find it quite relaxing and satisfying. The Jigsaw shop in Nottingham is on a street that links the Victoria centre to the Broadmarsh centre. If you are coming from the Victoria centre - there is a pedestrianised bit, then a turn for Hockley and then the lovely Zara shop. You continue past the Zara shop, cross the road towards Waterstones and the Jigsaw shop is down there on the left - past the L'Occitane and East shops. I know all the "look but do not purchase" shops! The Jigsaw web site will give you name of the road. I have shopped in Nottingham for many years but still do not know the names of the roads. If you have any problems, I will be going to Nottingham soon so I could take your squares for you.
Welcome to the KAS forum. I live the other side of Derby to you - in Etwall! I have found the discussion on this forum supportive and motivating. It was very pleasing to discover that Jigsaw are collecting squares between now and Christmas.

Around the world caring people are all taking direct action and team-working with the Ladies of the Soweto Comfort Club - it is making a difference to many parentless children. When you've had a chance to look around the site you would be very welcome to join the UK group for more local news and chat.
