Thank you for your lovely welcome. I think it might take me a while to find my way around as I am better with my knitting needles than I am with this computer.  Loved your squares.  Also looks as though we have the same carpet!!

      Hi

Although the k.p.'s forum comes into my inbox everyday, I have not been checking it out much these past few months and for some reason yesterday morning, after I had checked out KAS, I thought I would just pop in...what a coincidence.

I do like their discussions as well...lots of friendly chat and good advice.

      Hi Davidsgrandma

Just popped into the Knitters Paradise forum this morning, which I haven't done for a while and saw where someone was asking about where to find 'knitting for charity' sites. I put  out a quick reply suggesting KAS, then started to go back through the pages of  replies and saw one from you also. Great minds think alike. lol.

Thank you for your kind words...yes, it has been very hard these past couple of months - I still keep expecting John to come walking through the door each evening.  I am just taking each day as it comes right now - some days are better than others, but I try to be 'patient and kind' to myself and not to expect too much.  Not wanting to go too far at the moment, as my home seems to be my own 'security blanket' at the moment.  Knitting my squares has been very theraputic and I don't know how I would have coped had I not decided to start this even when John was first diagnosed.  I have just 5 squares left to go, and then I can mail them!  I will make an effort to visit the site from time to time, to keep in touch.  Bless You. Susan x

Thank you so much for offering to help with resizing the charity shop squares. 2964996899?profile=RESIZE_320x3202964996986?profile=RESIZE_320x320

As you can see they are very varied and some are possibly not worth too much trouble. At present I have bagged up the strips (which are not consistent but mostly about 2 1/2 squares long) in the hope that I can get them taken to Jigsaw in time. If not I will alter them before I post but that would take too long at present.  I also bordered a panel of well-made but drab strips to make a small blanket. The others are mostly very small. I was thinking maybe I would attempt to 'join as you go' with those. I haven't mastered that technique yet but I keep trying. A lot of the rest are a strange assortment of flimsy rectangles that could possibly be joined in a patchwork sort of way, and strangest of all, a number of knitted circles that I can only think could maybe be sewn onto other thin squares. I don't think they are worth the trouble of trying to enlarge.

I am concerned that sending this stuff to you would just incur postal charges for you as I doubt if much could be done before the Jigaw offer ends because of seasonal delays. Quite honestly I don't think these particular bits of knitting/crochet are worth too much time, effort and money. I do appreciate your offer of help and if you have any bright ideas as to how they could be used I would love to hear.

      Best wishes,

      Christine

Thank you so much Davidsgrandma. They are warm and thick but also very stretchy :)

      Love your squares too!
