I don't know how often you look at the Forum or if you get emails when someone has posted a reply under the group but in case the discussion gets buried I thought you may be interested in Belinda's reply to your postage query. The full discussion is under the UK group:
As for Karen's brilliant scheme. I'd be quite willing to help with some of the postage costs. If others are willing to do the work, I'm willing to give a bit of help with transportation to SA. Knitting for KAS has probably saved my sanity over the last two years. Being housebound and not much use to anybody is very demoralising. There was an activities organisor at my mother's nursing home.and she did a wonderful job motivating the elderly ladies - though they didn't knit! Wish KAS had been on the go then!
Hi Karen, Pam alerted me to your discussion so I thought I would respond directly to you. Could you possibly send me an e-mail to: knitforlife4@gmail.com ? Then we can correspond privately and we can explore ways we might be able to help you. Elaine
Hi Karen, welcome to the forum ! We are so pleased you have joined our world-wide family of knitters and crocheters. We are dedicated to keeping the children in South Africa warm.
There is another member named Karen Bennett on the forum. She's from Gloucester.
How wonderful that knitting/crocheting for the children has helped your residents. It is amazing how thinking of others can change people.
I hope the UK forum members can help with ideas for postage. It is the one major drawback of a small charity.
