From what I have been told from our Moderators in the UK.  You can ship your items.  News from South Africa is that they are receiving post.  Please go ahead and try to ship your squares, The Barn needs stocking.

Thank you for supporting Knit a Square and I can't wait to see your work, if you post any.

Please take care and stay healthy.

Hi Mary, and welcome to the Square Circle Forum, home of Knit a Square.

My name is Amy and I am one of the Moderators from the USA.

We hope you enjoy the different discussions that cover all aspects of KAS.  We hope that you will get to see your work arrive in The Barn or better yet wrapped around a child during a distribution.

Please feel free to add a comment or two to photos or discussion.  This site is a little challenging at the beginning but with a little practice it is very easy to navigate.

I look forward to seeing some of your work on the Forum.

Each month we have the Snippets, where all the latest information is explained, and reminders of important points are given. It provides a good introduction to new members, with links to the most important items of the month.

Welcome to Knit-a-Square, Mary.  I hope that you will enjoy being part of our "family".

KAS is made up of members from all over the world, all of us with the aim of providing comfort to vulnerable children.  We knit and crochet squares for blankets, hats, handwarmers and toys. Once these are sent to South Africa, our volunteer group there make the squares into blankets, make up packs for distribution to the needy children. Each pack contains a blanket, a hat, a pair of handwarmers and a toy.

You will find much more information in the Discussion categories. If you can't find the information you need, please ask one of the members and we can usually find an answer.

Please check the information on mailing parcels. It is important not to place a monetary value on the items you are sending and to make sure that your parcel is labelled for charity. We cannot afford to pay duty on parcels received.

Also, it's better to send a large parcel rather than several small ones. We have to pay a handling charge for every parcel received, and the charge is the same for a small parcel as for a large one.

We enjoy seeing photos of members' creations. It's fun to check out the photo section from time to time.
