round 1: chain 6 in the first chain, close with slipstitch (=6 stitches)
round 2: chain 1, 2 dc in every stitch, close with a slipstitch (12 stitches)
round 3: chain 1, *2 dc in one dc of former round, 1 dc in next stitch* , repeat up till end of round, end with a slipstitch in the first stitch (18 stitches)
round 4: Start a new colour. Chain 3 and 2 half treble in one stitch of the former round, skip one stitch, 3 half treble in the next stitch, skip one stitch and so on up till you have 9 groups of 3 half treble. End with a slipstitch on top of the chain 3.
Round 5: Start a new colour. One dc in every stitch around, but between the groups of the 3 half treble you make a dc in the skipped stitch of round 3. That is the long dc that you see on the picture.
Round 6: Start a new colour.
*start with one dc in the long dc of the former round.
in the next dc of the former round 1: 1 double treble
in the next dc 3 times double treble
in the next dc 1 double treble*
repeat up till you have 9 petals
End with a sliptstich in the first dc of this round.
With a new colour you make a circle in surface crochet (between round 3 and 4).
Flower made!

Hi Melinda, An honour for me that you like to have the pattern. Thank you so much. I have the pattern from a Dutch crochet "star". She makes such lovely crochet work. I will give it a try to translate it for you. Also she has a tutorial in Dutch, luckily with very clear pictures. I will send the link to you. Give me a couple of days and I will be back to you. :)
I'm a crocheter and have been crocheting since my aunt taught me when I was 10 years old. I've progressed from doll clothes to KAS squares and garments[and a few other things in between :-) ]. I've been a forum member for about 5 years and really enjoy helping to keep the children warm.
