Please go to the U.S. Forum page on the KAS website and read about a new fund-raising drive to raise funds for a newer vehicle for Ronda. She is in great need of a more reliable car to take the blankets and hats to the creches and the squares to the stitchers. A donation of any amount is valuable. Thanks
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your kind comment about my elephant square. I will eventually get around to adding a pattern in the Squares section but for the time-being I did put at least a partial pattern under that picture in the Photo section (or under my album 'Squares'. I just knit a square, cut a hole in it, and tack a smaller rectangle to the back. It's very quick.
I do tend not to post pictures of squares because I experiment a bit and when one turns out okay it's a bit of a fluke and I don't usually know exactly what I did. But I have made several elephant faces so I know they work.
Welcome to our group Nancy...this is a wonderful group of ladies, all wanting to do the same thing, knitting or crocheting for those in need...sure hope you will enjoy KAS...and chime in every now and then...
Hi Nancy, welcome to our warm KAS community. Sorry it's a bit belated. We hope you will enjoy the forum and your region's group. You should join the USA group!
There are lots of great discussions going on in the forum, including the monthly challenges.
We are still continuing our July Challenge - keep a newborn warm, making blankets for abandoned babies, and there have been some great results for the August in Africa challenge - you can see photographs under the photos menu. (Details of both challenges in the main forum). We're also embarking on our September challenge which is also under "challenges" in the forum.
