      Dear Susanne,

Ronda has expressed the need for a newer vehicle to transport squares and blankets. Helen Flagg has proposed to the US Group that we raise funds to help KAS purchase a car. The idea has gone global and there is an initiative on the forum about it. Check the latest ezine video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VK9mbUrGWI&feature=youtu.be

To visit the US Group, click on this link:

Also, The Humble Stitch Project has offered to ship all squares received in Florida by Dec 15th to South Africa for us for free.  Check out their offer and the address on the Forum in the US Group.

      Hope to see you there!

      Hi Susie,

I'm sorry that you have lost both your friend and your father.  It must be a difficult time for you.  How precious that you are making memory blankets for them.  It is a wonderful way to remember them and to help warm a child.

Each blanket is made up of 35 squares.  Each square is 8". Yes, send the squares and include a letter saying how special these squares are.  The volunteers will be happy to sew them together for you.

(I've posed this in the memorial section but thought you might not see it there).

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

      Linda

      Dear Susanne:

Prayers and condolences on the passing of your father.  I think making a red-white-and-blue blanket for a shivering child is a beautiful memorial.

      Susanne,

I'm so sorry for the loss of your loved ones!  There is an official category on the forum now for making blankets in honor of somebody.  If you are interested in posting about your blankets, and the people they honor, it is here:  http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/categories/in-memorium/li...

Hi Susanne: I thinks your idea is beautiful about your friend. Perhaps you can get a group of knitters together in your local area to help you make some squares. There was a man in North Carolina who quilted with some ladies, and when they  had completed the quilt they donated it to a charity. He was real proud!! Happy Knitting. Where are you in New Jersey? I'm from there orginally. I'm in Florida now.

I just got back from Petco. I am there every Sunday with adoptables. I had 2 adults and 2 kittens. No adoptions, just lots of lookers. You might want to talk to ANNE POWELL, her church does knitting for KAS and she might have some good ideas for bringing this to your church. I know she printed up pictures of the kids from the website. Sometimes a picture tells all you need to know.

I do cat rescue. My picture is CHER, one of our rescues from a few years ago. I entered her into a contest for Rally to Rescue and she was one of 10 finalists, but did not win the big prize. I have 4 cats and 1 visitor(foster). All 4 of mine were a previous foster cat that I just ended up keeping. I do foster dogs, but do not have one at this time.
I have been crocheting for this group for 13 months. I have send over 500 items. I do crocheting for KAS, the local homeless shelter and my rescue groups. Always a venue for my busy fingers. WELCOME!!!
