Good luck..it is easy enough to do....I have printed up loads of pics, unfortunately I find they don't always look on the square, exactly like they do on the graph paper....but they will provide interest for the children. I am working on another at the moment, but will probably not get to finish it for a couple of days...have a few other things begging for my time. :(
Hello and welcome Janeen from Tassie. I have been knitting squares for KAS since July last year. It is good fun. The 'challenge' gives some fresh ideas if people want to do that but any square, plain or striped or patterned is very welcome.
If you want to look at anyone's profile just click their name, their page will open and read their comments and well down the page you will see all their photos slideshow. You can click on any photo to open it and comment. The website is quite complex and I still haven't discovered everything. You can click on all the inks and learn a lot about the wonderful KAS community. I knit most of the time. :)
Janeen, hello! Essentially, our mandate is for squares which gives the Ladies of Soweto Comfort Club the chance to team-work and help 'their' children by sewing them together. When the blankets are distributed we try to provide a hat and if possible a cuddly toy. However, scarves will also be welcome. They have had a tough winter this year - there was one day when it snowed in every region! The main thing Janeen is that you enjoy what you are doing - I know a number of members are gradually getting to grips with crochet!
Hi Janeen, Welcome to the KAS forum from the UK. I hope you will enjoy being part of this friendly & lively community. Do you knit or crochet or both? Around the world caring people are all taking direct action and team-working with the Ladies of the Soweto Comfort Club - it is making a difference to many parentless children. When you've had a chance to look around the site you would be very welcome to join the Downunder group for more local news and chat.
You can also personalize your own page by clicking on the My Page tab on the menu. Also you can access Settings on this page and set your privacy terms. For questions click on the Forum tab and then KAS - Questions, Answers and Help.
Very glad your Google search directed to you our global knitting family! Check out the Hello & Welcome Letter by clicking the "Main Page" tab above. There you will find all kinds of information about KAS. Another great section to look over is the Photo tab - everyone is so supportive of the work on display.
