Hi Lynnell, I'm so tardy on this one but I want to chime in, after being away on holidays and say a friendly hello from up in Canada above MN. I just got back from holidays in MN and SD and had a great time, as usual. We got to see Mt. Rushmore this trip which was really special and touching and deserves a second visit, probably next year. Hope everything is going well for you and if there's any concerns just ask one of us. We'll try to clear the waters for you! luv, Jeanne
Hello Lynnell, so glad you’ve joined us. Keeping the children in South Africa warm has brought together a world-wide group of caring knitters and crocheters.
Have you seen the discussion about hats? Ronda wants 600 red and white ones ! Here's the link to tell you why.
If you haven’t already, please read through the welcome message on the forum main page for helpful hints and things that might interest you. http://forum.knit-a-square.com
If you appreciate a “challenge”, you might like to join the Monthly challenge. This is a fun way to try new ideas. Every month, a theme is chosen to challenge the forum members to create something new and different......it could be a new colour, a different stitch or a totally new way of knitting/ crocheting. An 8” square is the perfect size for experimenting.
Please have a look at what some of us have made and then join us in making a square of two that is your representation of the Far East.
And as always, making the basic square is a wonderful way to relax and still help the children. Plain Jane squares, as they are affectionately called, are the backbone of KAS. They are always needed.
Whatever you decide, we would love to see photos of your work. Click on the photo option at the top of the page, click “Add” and follow the prompts.
Welcome to KAS from the UK Lynnell - lovely to have you with us. We are a big worldwide family which is making a real difference to the children of South Africa. Do come and chat on the forum and tell us a bit about yourself. Happy knitting - or do you crochet?
