Hi Wendy, Pleasego to the U.S. forum group for current information about a fund drive to provide Ronda with a newer vehicle to take blankets and squares to the stithers. donations in any amount are welcome.
The Humble Stitch Project in FL will send our squares, sweaters, cuddles, socks, vests etc to S.A. if received by Dec. 15th. Check the forum for the mailing address. Jan Wilcox OH.
If you haven’t already, please read through the welcome message on the forum main page for helpful hints and things that might interest you. http://forum.knit-a-square.com
If you appreciate a “challenge”, you might like to join the Monthly challenge. This is a fun way to try new ideas or patterns. Every month, a theme is chosen to challenge the forum members to create something new and different......it could be a new colour, a different stitch or a totally new way of knitting/ crocheting. An 8” square is the perfect size for experimenting.
And as always, making the basic square is a wonderful way to relax and still help the children. Plain Jane squares, as they are affectionately called, are the backbone of KAS. Since it takes 35 squares to make one blanket, squares are the most needed items.
As Debbie has said, we love to see photos of everyone's work.
Hi Wendy Lee and welcome to the forum ! We are so pleased you have joined our world-wide family of knitters and crocheters. We are dedicated to keeping the children in South Africa warm.
If you have any questions about anything just ask. There is always someone willing to help with the answer.
Do you knit or crochet ? Everyone loves to see what others are doing so please post photos of your work. Just click on the photo section at the top of the page and then follow the prompts.
Have you had a chance to look at the e-zines ? They provide wonderful photos of how our squares are helping these vulnerable children. Their smiles are priceless !
Hi Wendy Lee and a big warm welcome from the UK - lovely to have us with us and joining the many keen and friendly knitters and crocheters from all over the world.
