hi
I volunteer for the patchwork garden project which is a social horticultural project for those experiencing difficulties due to mental or physical health.
as well as gardening we do a lot of crafts.
Knitting squares for your blankets has been a huge success and helped a lot of people through difficult times this winter . The therapeutic benefits of knitting are huge and also knowing that the knitting is going to benefit these children it is a win win situation
we are just about to post our first completed blanket and have another one being sewn together at the moment
we are keen to continue are knitting and have had a lot of lovely wool donated by the community. Hopefully as our knitting skills improve we can move on to cuddly toys and hats etc.

What a great project that will help so many. Love to see the squares being made when you can!
What a great 'good news' story, Vanessa. A win-win for sure.
Thank you for choosing Knit A Square and the children it supports, as recipients of your members' crafting. It will be much appreciated. :))
Thank you Vanessa. It is wonderful that the project promotes the well-being of its members while helping children in South Africa. Giving of oneself through knitting and crocheting has been shown to provide many health benefits.
Please check Helpful Hints [see top toolbar] for tips on sending the parcel as well as a mailing label.
We would love to see a photo of the blanket..and future ones :-) Please add to the Photo Gallery.
