This is a wonderful looking pattern; don't know if I can master 2 different yarns; I'm just use to knitting with 2 colors together. But it would be worth a try I'm sure. Thanks for sharing this with us and Happy New Year to you!
Hi donna, This is a "slip stitch" which is so cool and not hard at all. You carry the yarn your NOT working with across the back of the work loosely. For instance knit 3 with blue then knit 2 with red and ( always pick up your new color (red) from underneath the color just dropped). You will have little loops on the back of your work, usually no more than 3 stitches. When it says to SLIP a stitch you just put your needle in the stitch as if to knit or purl - but you don't -you just let it slip to the right hand needle.Go to "you tube" and put SLIPSTITCH in the search bar for videos. you'll love it. There are many slipstitch patterns that look like advanced colorwork. It will open up a whole new world for you as it did me.Another website is knittinghelp.com.

Hi Deborah,
Thanks for the info. I know what a slip stitch is when starting a row or ending or SSK, etc. but I will definitely look up these sites because for me "seeing" it is better than "reading" it. I'm a visual person! Thanks so much for your help, my friend. This site is just amazing for me; I am learning sooo much! Have a wonderful weekend. Donna O.
I'm a crocheter but I must say that's a very interesting stitch indeed and what looks like "pockets" on it will probably hold alot of insulating air and make for very warm squares. Thanks for sharing it, I imagine others will be keen to try it.
