Hi there one and all.
I am Kim and am located in Kent in the Uk. I have only recently picked up my hook again and am pretty much self taught. I used to knit when I was a child but never really got the hang of it as I am sooooo kack handed and it takes me forever to get anywhere. Crochet on the other had I love and like I say pretty much self taught from watching youtube videos and just from looking at pictures and working them out (I cant follow patterns for the life of me), although my mum did try to shwo me years ago.
I am currently part of a granny square swap on facebook and have recently sent off my first bact of swap squares. And have ready a batch of squares to go to the US as part of a gift blanket for a serving soldier.
It was via Facebook and a friend who is on there that I came across KasCare and the whole Knit-a-Square. I love the idea of being able to creative and crafty and at the same time help out those or are not as lucky to have to same quality of life that I do.
There are only so many crochet blankets I can keep for myself and sharing with these kids is such a lovely idea. I love the passion that everyone connected to a cause such as this has, and they supposrt they give everyone.
Everyone here hs such big hearts and I am lookign forward to becoming a part of it.

Hi Kim, we are so pleased that you decided to join us. Everyone here is very friendly and committed as you say and I am sure that you will find that you learn a lot as well as being a part of a supportive and caring community.
I'm the opposite to you - I learned to knit when I was little and didn't try very hard with crochet until last year and I'm still all fingers and thumbs and can't really get the hang of it at all. I can make granny squares and that's about it.
We'd love to have you join the UK group for more local information and chat if you wish.
H!ve already poppede over and joined the Uk group and looking forward to getting stuck in.
