I just published a new square pattern designed specifically for KAS. The Scrappy Square was designed to use up all of your scraps. It is completely customizable! You can use any yarn and any hook to make it in any size (though, of course, preferably 8x8"). Whatever you want! One of my scrappy squares used over 20 different yarns! You may use as many or as few scraps as you wish, depending on how many scraps you have, the length of those scraps, and the size of your finished square.
This is a perfect project for beginners, with detailed instructions and photo tutorials techniques such as magic loop, clean color changes, using different yarn weights, and an easy way to weave in ends in crochet. To make this square you only need to know how to chain, double crochet, and slip stitch.
You can also find this pattern on Ravelry. I would love to see some squares made using it!

I have made several squares using up scraps of yarn already Maggie.
That's fantastic! I'm so glad to see that it's being used. :D
Thanks for putting this up here Maggie, I'm sure people will love it!
these instructions look quite easy, (even for me)! will have to give it a go with all my little 'scraps' :)
The square was designed specifically for beginners, so the instructions should be very clear and easy. Enjoy!
