Yeah Ann, so glad to have you on the forum! I know you are going to be such a great addition to our lovely group here!! Post photos Ann before you mail out your newest batch :o)
Greetings Ann, from up in Canada just above MN. You guys have really been going through it down there, first droughts, then floods...hope you're okay. Glad to have you with us. It's so rewarding to help these orphaned children. You'll find many enthusiastic American members chatting in the USA group--just click on Groups in the header line above to go where all the groups are and join as many as you wish. Any questions, just ask. Welcome to KAS! :)
Hello Ann, just came on and saw that you are our newest member ! So glad you’ve joined us. Keeping the children in South Africa warm has brought together a world-wide group of caring knitters and crocheters.
If you haven’t already, please read through the welcome message on the forum main page for helpful hints and things that might interest you. http://forum.knit-a-square.com
If you appreciate a “challenge”, you might like to join the Monthly challenge. This is a fun way to try new ideas or patterns. Every month, a theme is chosen to challenge the forum members to create something new and different......it could be a new colour, a different stitch or a totally new way of knitting/ crocheting. An 8” square is the perfect size for experimenting.
Please have a look at what some of us have made and then join us in making a square of two that is your representation of the Far East.
And as always, making the basic square is a wonderful way to relax and still help the children. Plain Jane squares, as they are affectionately called, are the backbone of KAS. They are always needed as it takes 35 squares to make one blanket.
Whatever you decide, we would love to see photos of your work. Click on the photo option at the top of the page, click “Add” and follow the prompts.

Welcome to KAS Ann and warm greetings from South Africa :)
Welcome, Ann, to our KAS family. I'm in hot, hot, hot Philadelphia where we are having another heat wave. Knitting squares is about all I can manage!
