Ronda has expressed the need for a newer vehicle to transport squares and blankets. Helen Flagg has proposed to the US Group that we raise funds to help KAS purchase a car. The idea has gone global and there is an initiative on the forum about it. Check the latest ezine video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VK9mbUrGWI&feature=youtu.be
Also, The Humble Stitch Project has offered to ship all squares, hats, sweaters, cuddles, toys, etc. received in Florida by Dec 15th to South Africa for us for free. Check out their offer and the address on the Forum in the US Group.
I just saw your February 23 comment today, asking if I was a good question/answer person. I'll bet you've already figured out the answer! ;-D
Sorry I didn't get back to you. Actually, I'm pretty new to the site myself, having joined sometime last August. I still have questions cropping up all the time, about KAS and about knitting and crochet. I'm sure a lot of more experienced KAS members have already replied to you!
I have not worked on this project for a while now....my job takes up too much time. I do hope to get back to this soon. How soon will you be ready to ship your squares?
Leanna, your comment about knitting your first square arrived in my inbox this morning via Google Alerts. So you see, you knitted one square, told us all about it and Google posted it to the world. Think how many people may knit now for the children as a result. That is why we believe every square is a currency of hope! Thank you for joining us and giving it a go.
Greetings from up in Canada Leanna. I love this charity, we can do so much good directly from us to them. And my crocheting skills actually improved...minor miracle! I went and watched the dog sled teams giving rides to the kids out on the frozen lake yesterday. They had a team of horses pulling a wagon out there too. It was "Family Day" for us but I believe "Presidents' Day" for you guys. Hope you got some time off to enjoy it. :) Welcome to KAS!
Hey Leanna! Welcome to Square Circle Forum! Since you, like me, are from the U.S. why not join the U.S. discussion group? It's one of the most active, lively discussion groups on the KAS site -- just full of friendly people, ready to help ably and immediately with any "technical difficulties" (which I, as a knitting/crochet beginner, really appreciate!).
Welcome Leanna! So glad you joined us. Check out the New Member Guide by clicking on the Main Page tab above. Join a special interest group by clicking on the Groups tab above. The US Group has just adopted two creches...see the story on the latest ezine. Have fun!

Thanks for the comment, however!
